My passion for glass started when I lived in Edinburgh, inspired by stained glass prevalent in the city's churches and homes. Growing up in Cornwall on the north Cornish coast I was always fascinated by the sea and its
wonderful movement, hours spent watching the crashing waves of the Atlantic and wandering the cliff paths observing the variety of nature.
When I moved to Ceres, Fife, I had the opportunity to develop my increasing
passion for glass. A few courses in stained glass painting, fusing, slumping, kiln casting and glass blowing at the Liquid Glass Centre, Bath, led me to leaving the graphic design industry behind and becoming a full
time artist. I have exhibited at Pittenweem Arts Festival, North Fife Open Studios and currently my work can be found in galleries across Scotland.
"Waves are a wonderful force of nature, never ending and always different, no two are the same, the Atlantic storms filled me with wonder and exhilaration"
"Nature is full of inspiration, capturing those moments which make you stop and stare at the play of light, colour and texture"
A variety of techniques are used to capture the movement
and texture of the sea and nature. Through experimentation
I have developed a process of using coloured enamels and tack fusing which gives each
piece of glass a unique, sculptural and tactile quality. Crushed glass called frit is all handmade and adorns many of the pieces.
I an always experimenting with different kinds of paints, gold, silver and copper
leaf, chemicals, plant matter, gold and platinum lustres, engraving, layering and sculptural shapes resulting in a fusion of colours and textures. Fresh ideas and techniques are constantly evolving for new pieces.
"A ongoing process of discovery and pleasure to see how a piece turns out when I open the kiln"
Ranges of work include waves, forest and flowers, fish, shoals and boats, all in various sculptural forms and sizes, each piece hand painted and unique. New ideas are always in production and will be shown on the website
and Instagram when they become available.
Individual pieces and limited editions can be seen regurlay on the website and Instagram and news of these pieces will be sent out by email so please sign

My work is currently available in galleries and new galleries will be added soon, see the Buy page for gallery information. Smaller items that can be posted
