Bobbie studied graphic design at Bournemouth College of Art & Design between 1983 - 1987. After graduating she began work as a designer for large design companies in London including award winning Lloyd Northover and Samson Tyrrell developing a cutting edge style and winning some design awards along the way. Whilst she lived in London and then Edinburgh she first became aware of glass as a medium and initially was inspired by the many fine examples of stained glass to be found in the churches and cathedrals.

She took up the post of lecturer on the Visual Communication degree course at Edinburgh School of Art and latterly became acting Head of Department. Whilst there she spent time in the glass department picking up techniques and watching the processes she loved so much and decided to take an advanced course in fusing, slumping, glass blowing and kiln casting at the Liquid Glass Centre, Bath.

Since moving to Ceres in Fife Bobbie has built her own glass studio and over the years has exhibited at Pittenweem Arts Festival, North Fife Open Studios and is now exhibiting work in numerous galleries across Scotland.

Her main inspiration is nature, especially the sea and it's wonderful movement, studied while growing up in Cornwall. Her style of glass making uses techniques including tack fusing, inclusions, gold and silver, all combined with sculptural shapes and stained glass painting techniques.
